UMCOR Sunday

March 11, 2018

As part of our observance of UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Sunday on March 11th, we will begin gathering materials to make hygiene kits which provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes most often by natural disasters or human conflict.

Can you help by contributing one item (MUST BE NEW) – a hand towel or a washcloth or a bar of bath-size soap or nail clippers or even $ 1 which UMCOR will use to buy toothpaste? The sign-up will be in the narthex this Sunday so give some thought to how you might help.

Here are the details on items needed for the kits:

- hand towel 15"x 25" to 17″ × 27″ - NO kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels

- washcloth

- nail clippers

- bath-size soap – 3 oz. minimum in original package, no Ivory or Jergens because of moisture content

Sign up in the narthex. Collection bin will be on the counter in the Crossroads.

Thanks to the Agape Class which funded purchase of the 6" combs. The effort was also blessed by leftovers of toothbrushes from a previous event.
