Is our time on earth just a string of random events and haphazard circumstances? Or is God guiding His people to accomplish His purposes? Is the truth somewhere in between? This month in Sunday School, we’ll explore these questions with our new unit on Esther.

EAST COBB KIDS

God loves children, and so do we! We believe each child is perfect in God’s image and strive to help them develop and live as Christians. At ECUMC, we are dedicated to helping establish connections and nurture their relationships with God.

Our regular offerings include:

Sunday School | 9:45 - 11 AM

Available for children aged three through 5th Grade, our weekly Sunday School program offers children the opportunity to participate in small-group learning experiences alongside others of the same age range. We use the Grow Curriculum, which brings children through the entire Bible in a three-year period.

For 3-5-year-olds, there’s Bible storytelling with visuals, sing-alongs, movement, memory verses, crafts, and games.

For 6- to 7-year-olds, the program includes Bible lessons, group discussions, crafts, prayer, and basic Scripture reading for emerging readers.

For 8- to 10-year-olds, there is Bible study, navigation, real-life application, prayer, and pre-youth mentorship. Check in using the computerized check-in station in the children’s hallway.

Nursery | 10 AM - 12:15 PM

Our nursery is staffed with caring and loving volunteers ready to spend time with your youngest children, infants through age two. Using a curriculum tailored to this age group, leaders will share Bible stories and basic crafts with all the children present. Nursery care is available in room 120.

Children's Church | 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM

Children in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade are invited to participate in Children’s Church immediately following the Children’s Moment in worship. Leaders will guide the children from the sanctuary to the classroom. Parents will pick up children in the Children’s Wing following worship.

During Children’s Church, kids will learn about the basics of the faith, including the sacraments (baptism and communion), the Doxology, the attributes of God, and important prayers, creeds, and hymns (The Lord’s Prayer, The Apostles Creed, etc.).

Children in 4th grade and above are invited to remain in worship with their families.

Scout Troops

At ECUMC, we are delighted to serve as a nurturing ground for the personal and communal growth of young individuals by hosting six scout troops on our campus. Our partnership with these scout troops provides a dynamic space where scouts can participate in a variety of activities designed to foster their skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and ethical leadership.

RESOURCES FOR PARENTS

Talking to your kids about racism

Parents, it is never too early to start talking to your kids about racial justice. When it comes to talking to kids about racism, many parents are uncertain about how to talk about it with their kids.

Raising kids who will initiate racial equality

As parents, we need to check in with our children to discover what they already know, what they’ve seen/heard and what they think about it all.

Safe Sanctuary

God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children and other vulnerable persons from sexual and ritual abuse. God calls us to create communities of faith where children and adults grow safe and strong.
