Gazette Title: Best Year Ever!

Discovering the Best Ever!
New Sermon Series
A teacher once asked their 1st grade class, “What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you?” The answers were widespread, including everything from “Bubblegum ice cream” to “being born!” What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you? Our new sermon series will explore some of the best things ever, including the best year ever, the best story ever, and the best church ever. Come celebrate the best things ever with East Cobb UMC every Sunday at 11:15 a.m. in person or online!

Rise Against Hunger
Wednesday // February 14
Save the date for one of our favorite mission events of the year – Rise Against Hunger! This year we will seek to pack even more meals as we kick off the Lenten season. Packing will take place on Ash Wednesday, February 14, and lead into our Ash Wednesday service including imposition of the ashes. Registration is coming soon!
Name the new Family Promise Transition House in the ECUMC Penny War!
We are excited to announce that the former youth house on our campus will now be used by our partner in ministry, Family Promise, to house families in transition. A family will reside in the home for up to 90 days at a time while working with a Family Promise social worker to obtain permanent housing. This will be the 4th transition house operated by Family Promise. The house will be dedicated on February 4, but one thing is missing – a name!
Visit the table in the Narthex beginning Sunday, January 7 to vote for the name of our transition house. Voting will take place in the form of a “Penny War.” Each penny in the jar will count as one vote. But, other coins will take away votes. So, fill your favorite jar with pennies and the other jars with silver coins for the best chance to win! All money collected will go towards Family Promise.
