Day Seven: Turn to God

The General Conference of the newly formed Methodist Church (1939), meeting in Kansas City, Mo. in 1944, authorized the publication of The Book of Worship for Church and Home for “optional and voluntary use by Methodist churches and Methodist people.” During this Lent, 75 years later, the call of this Conference and the Scriptures subsequently chosen still invite us back to God.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn to the Lord.

God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart he will not despise. Amen.
