This fall, starting on August 17, ECUMC is offering a regular Sunday morning opportunity for both parents and children. In our increasingly contentious world, do you want to be intentional about raising compassionate kids who know God? This is a class where you can connect with other parents to discuss ways to meet this challenge. And just down the hall, your children will learn biblical truths that will help them in their daily lives.
For Parents: 9:45 am Parenting Class in Room 101
- The parenting journey doesn’t come with an instruction book or a road map. So often we find ourselves wondering, “Am I doing this right? What kind of kids will my children grow up to be?” While there may not be a guide, there is a wonderful community of other parents to go along the journey with you!
- Join us Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in room 101 as we discuss parenting with love and faith. While the kids are in Sunday School, the adults will reflect on the Bible passage the children are learning, as well as engage in discussions around faith-filled parenting. Pastor Kristin leads this class using podcasts, videos, and books as conversation starters.
For Children: 9:45 am Sunday School in the Children’s Wing
- Children aged three to 10 will be divided into three age groups to explore God’s love through Bible teaching and an introduction to prayer—all delivered through music, movement, crafts, and discussion.
- When you send your children to Sunday School, you give them a
steady rhythm of learning…
- how to connect biblical teachings to their daily lives.
- how to talk to and hear from God.
- how to make wise choices.
- how to lean on God’s power to practice kindness and forgiveness.
- how to live not of the world but of the Word.
Meet us at the church’s main entrance on August 17 at 9:45 am. After the class, you’re welcome to stay for the 11:00 a.m. church service. Children aged up to 8 years old will be dismissed to Children’s Church before the sermon begins. (Older kids are invited to stay and listen.) We look forward to serving you and your children!
P.S. East Cobb UMC is an open and affirming church, which means that everyone is welcome and everyone is loved. That includes anyone of any background, culture, race, or sexual orientation.
